Upstairs Guest Bath Reveal

As you might have gathered from parts one, two, three, and four, we've been updating our guest bath upstairs from this...

...to something more classic.

In the vanity area, the biggest change (besides getting rid of the bright teal paint) is the new mirror.

We got rid of the wall-to-wall, frameless mirror in favor of this framed one from Home Goods for around $40.  The pale blue breaks up all the cream and white and works nicely with the other blues.

I'm still in love with the new light fixture, although pretty much anything would have been an improvement over the '80s swag fixture.

We have to work with the built-in vanity for now, so the new hardware brings it into this decade.

(The faucet is also a vast improvement.)

I used apothecary jars to hold little things one might need in the bathroom...

... and I couldn't resist adding some flowers from our yard...

For towels, we added two new rings...

...and a ladder leaning against the wall opposite the vanity.

I white washed the pine then wiped on stain for more of an antique look.

I bought four large, fluffy bath towels for $8 each and four hand towels for $5 each at Home Goods.  It was a relatively cheap way to freshen up the room.

The last touch in the vanity area is a framed botanical I found at Ace Hardware...

In the water closet area, I kept the same shower curtain because I'm a fan of the blue and khaki...

To add storage, I found this little cabinet to hang above the toilet.

It was around $30 at Home Goods. (I'm just now realizing how much I bought at Home Goods for this room...)

I love the wavy edge detail, and the hooks add more functionality.

In the cabinet, I added some nice soaps...

...for guests to use...

...as well as some more fluffy towels.

In stead of a typical trash can, I found this steel bucket at World Market for $10...

Toilet paper is being stored in a sweet, little navy-blue wire basket...

So this little area of the Amber Bottle House is completed... for a minute, at least :)

Happy Sunday!
