Mother's Day at the Amber Bottle House

I hope you had a great Mother's Day!

We spent time with Grant's mom on Saturday at the lake, and my family came to our house Sunday night for dinner.  It was the first time we've had people over for dinner with the dining room finished.

I wanted to seize the opportunity to decorate the table and make dinner a little more special than usual.

First stop: the basement.  I have some miscellaneous decor items from the Little Rock house hiding in the spare bedroom down there.  I chose the coffee-sack runner I made (I had thought about using placemats, but they covered up too much of the beautiful tabletop), a platter, some mason jars, and some cloth napkins.

I also used a white porcelain pitcher that had been decorating a shelf.

(I also found some botanical prints and some other things I had forgotten existed since the move. Woohoo! Shopping in my own house.)

The rose bushes around the yard are in full-bloom, so I thought I would take advantage of their color for the centerpiece.

This is what I came up with...

We enjoyed having the family over, and I certainly enjoyed having an excuse to create a table setting.

Happy Monday!
