Farmhouse Table Part 3

This is the final chapter of the farmhouse table saga. (See part one and part two.)

Once the table was assembled...

I whitewashed the base using this:

I just gloved up and used t-shirt scraps to wipe the stain onto the legs and the apron supporting the tabletop. 

Because whitewash is relatively translucent, one coat didn't conceal the fact that the legs and apron are not the same type of wood, so round again I went.

A second coat later, the two types of wood looked uniform.  Time to move it into its new home!

I'm in love with how the rustic table looks with the other pieces: six $20 chairs (four Tell City & two Ethan Allen found on Craigslist)...

 and the blue-and-white buffet from the old set.

I love coming down the stairs and seeing these vignettes...

Now to finish it off with some of my favorite table linens...
