Because Everyone Needs a Swing

Right? Right?

So what if we're young, professional, twenty-somethings without children?

While my mom, brother, and sister-in-law were in town, the girls went out-and-about, and the boys made a swing out of a plank of wood and some nylon rope. And by some I mean two forty-foot lengths of rope.

They tied the rope in knots and attached them to beanbags and tossed each over the tree branch...

...ok, not just any kind of knot. It's a three-strand eye splice knot.

(One of the perks of having a brother and a husband who are Eagle Scouts... no shortage of knot know-how.)

They put the other ends of the rope through the plank and tied double overhand knots.

Et voila!

Because of the slope in the backyard, you're about 20 feet above the ground at the highest point. It's awesome. Fun for children and grown-up children alike.

Happy childhood-reliving!
